We’re excited to introduce you to Rylan, our newest office friend!
Dr. Hansen and her family welcomed Rylan two weeks ago, and he has already made quite an impression on the team at Peak and the patients he’s had the chance to meet. Rylan is a Bernedoodle and will be spending a lot of time at the office, usually hanging out with Adam in his office. If you see him, be sure to say hi.
A Story That Means a Lot
Rylan is not only a great puppy, but he also has a story that means a lot to our Peak family and the North Attleboro community.
He came from an incredible breeder, Lyndi, who created the foundation Lilly Lights the Way in honor of her daughter Lilly, who passed away from cancer. Through the foundation, she donates a puppy from each litter to a family whose child is battling cancer.
One of the children who received a puppy was Leo, who many of you know from the “Leo Strong” signs around town, and who was also a patient of Dr. Hansen.
After Leo passed, his younger brother Rylan later received his own puppy and suggested naming a future litter after siblings of children who have passed. He was able to choose which puppy from this litter would carry his name.
How It Happened
Two weeks ago, Dr. Hansen and her family were walking through security at TF Green Airport when Amy sent a text with a photo of this puppy and, half jokingly, suggested they get him as a birthday gift for Dr. Hansen.
It didn’t take much convincing.
Since losing Boma, who many of you may remember as our original office dog when we first opened, the Hansen family had talked about getting another dog, but the timing never quite felt right. This one did.
A message to Lyndi before boarding the plane turned into a call the next day, and two days later, just after landing back in Providence, they went to meet him. It didn’t take long to know they weren’t leaving without him.
A few days later, Rylan was home, with a quick stop at Peak to surprise the staff.
Most people take months to prepare for a new puppy. In true Hansen family fashion, this one came together in about 72 hours, with a lot of help from Amazon Prime.
We’re so happy to have him as part of the Peak family and hope our patients enjoy getting to see and meet Rylan at the office.
