Transferring your child to Peak Pediatric Care is simple. Fill out our online registration form, accept our policies, and complete the medical record request. We’ll handle the rest by contacting your current pediatrician for the records, which may take up to 30 days.
We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and let you know as soon as your child is all set as a Peak patient.
If you’re expecting, complete our newborn registration form before birth. After your baby arrives, or if your baby is already here, call us during business hours and we’ll get you set for your first appointment.
Be sure to contact your insurance to confirm that Dr. Kathryn Hansen is in-network with your plan. We can’t verify your specific plan for you and don’t want you to be stuck with the cost of a denied visit!
We accept a variety of insurance plans. If you don’t see yours listed, call your member services to check if Dr. Kathryn Hansen is in-network with your plan.
Since every plan is unique, we ask all patients to contact their insurance to fully understand your benefits, copay, and any balances you will be responsible for. We want you to know this ahead of time to avoid any surprise bills.
Currently, we are not accepting new patients with MassHealth or BMC HealthNet plans. There is no current timeline on when we will reopen to those plans.
The Peak team is led by Dr. Hansen and Dr. Barkas, along with a great team of Nurse Practitioners and a Physician Assistant. All our providers work closely to ensure your family always receives exceptional care.
We understand families will have a preference for who they normally see, and we will always do our best to accommodate that. However, please be aware that same-day sick visits will need to be scheduled with the available provider that day.
To ensure efficient and effective communication with our office, patients are encouraged to set up their patient portal and Spruce account. This allows patients to easily contact our office as needed and ensures that we have an open line of communication with you.
Our office is pro-vaccine, and we require all patients to follow the immunization schedule required for students attending school in Massachusetts. All patients must agree to this policy and understand that exceptions or delayed schedules will not be allowed.
At Peak Pediatric Care, we aim to treat each patient based on their individual symptoms. While we understand the desire to have antibiotics called in when your child is sick, it is not always the best course of action.
We require patients to be seen in the office before prescribing any antibiotics, as they will not be prescribed over the phone based on symptoms alone. This approach ensures the best care for your child.
For after-hours questions, you can send a message through Spruce or the patient portal, and we will respond the next business day. For urgent medical needs outside of office hours, we provide a nurse triage line to assist our patients.
Parents with children of all ages can register for a New Patient Information Session and come find out what we’re about. Attendance is not required to become a patient.
We will be announcing future dates soon. Please call the office at (508) 576-5010 you are currently expecting and would like to schedule a prenatal appointment to meet Dr. Hansen.
Get fast and convenient answers anytime with our online tools. Our symptom checker provides quick answers to common questions, and our dosing guide makes it a breeze to look up Tylenol, Motrin, and Benadryl doses like a superhero parent!
